Meticulous in completing assignments, adhering to deadlines, and communicating work status.

Participate in on-call support rotation with other team members.

Have a BA or BS degree Information Technology or equivalent education and experience

Be comfortable working in a casual but high-performing environment.

Preference for candidates who already live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Senior Technical Support Engineer (Tier II)

Position Summary:

The primary function of the Senior Technical Support Engineer (Tier II) position is to research, resolve, and escalate (as necessary) client affecting issues. Our support engineers possess excellent knowledge of customer inventory scanning and auditing needs along with the drive to assist the client when needed. Exemplary communication skills (written and verbal) focused on sustaining market leading customer loyalty is a key requirement for this position. The Senior Technical Support Engineer provides extended support for Datascan’s product suite. Questions come from a wide variety of sources including clients who need assistance counting their first inventory with Datascan to clients who have been longtime customers and utilize all features of the Datascan product.


Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

Serving as the primary liaison between Datascan’s IT department and the client – keeping the client informed of incident progress and resolution through phone, chat, and email.

Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Datascan’s hardware and software by providing assistance to Tier 1 agents during client interactions and handling complex/escalated client inquiries through voice, chat, and email.

Development of Knowledge Base Articles to be used for internal and external purposes

Advise and help in implementation of curriculum development.

Work closely with other departments for collaborating IT projects.

This position will also serve as a general technical support specialist during high call volume periods by taking incoming calls from various clients.

Other duties outlined by the Director of Information and Technology or Technical Support Management.

Note: This position will have a shared responsibility of extended support for a 24/7/365 HelpDesk in which shifts can include evening, night, weekend, and “on call” shifts. 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of a positive attitude with good analytical skills and the ability to ‘figure things out’
  • A degree in a technology field or 3+ years’ experience in a helpdesk or similar position.

Solutions Analyst

The Solutions Analyst (SA) role is critical in ensuring we provide solutions to clients that work well in the field and are specified clearly with IT engineering when changes or customizations are required.  The SA provides the key liaison between the business facing roles in Account Management and Sales and our internal IT engineering groups.

The SA is required to have the most in-depth knowledge of both a client’s technical configuration, how it works with their physical inventory processes and how the solution will be used in the field.

The SA is exposed to more clients of varying complexity and scope than any other group within Datascan.

The position is pivotal in ensuring Datascan’s clients receive both equipment and software that has been correctly specified, configured and delivered to enable them to perform inventory counts efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and fully understand client/prospect requests and submit detailed specifications to IT engineering for development
  • Liaise between client, Sales/Account management and IT engineering to ensure questions are answered and expectations are clear
  • Ensure programs are designed and working fully as specified by clients/prospects
  • Communicate directly with client/prospect regarding file requirements and specifications
  • Review lifecycle test cases and test procedures to ensure that test plans adequately test all requirements
  • Perform technical testing and UAT
  • Document and maintain records of client specifications. Update Datascan documentation as necessary when configuration changes are requested
  • Ensure documentation provided to the client/prospect is accurate and complete
  • Communicate effectively with clients/prospects, Sales and Account Managers on recommended best practice solutions
  • Attend client/prospect meetings as required to advise on best practices, alternate solutions etc.
  • Participate in discussions and make recommendations as to internal process improvements
