Have worked with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or MySQL and be comfortable writing SQL statements to query/update a database.

Strong experience in managing different file formats in ETL by direct T-SQL.

Experience in creating complex stored procedures and SSRS reports

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting database support tickets.

Meticulous in completing assignments, adhering to deadlines, and communicating work status.

Participate in on-call support rotation with other team members.

Have a BA or BS degree Information Technology or equivalent education and experience

Be comfortable working in a casual but high-performing environment.

Preference for candidates who already live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Quality Assurance/Test Manager

About the Job

The QA/Test team is responsible for manual and automated testing of software on a casually connected proprietary handheld device, ASP.Net Website, custom .Net applications, reports and MS-SQL stored procedures.

The Quality Assurance/Test Manager is responsible for developing detailed test cases, enhancing the test execution process to include implementing automation testing and tracking defects. The QA/Test Manager will be responsible for determining priorities based on workload, available resources, skillsets and clients needs. This position is also responsible for coordinating cross-training schedules and the process documentation. The right candidate will have a minimum of 5 years leading a QA Testing team as well as practical experience on test automation tool(s). The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain department processes and procedures that provide guidance and direction for the team to ensure that software will be as defect free as possible prior to release.
  • Manage and direct test team resources including task prioritization and issue resolution
  • Fully implement and maintain an automated test strategy across all product lines. This includes development of extensive manual test cases as input to the automated test scripts for Regression and Scenario Testing.
  • Design and implement simulation and system stress test models
  • Develop reporting metrics to measure the quality of the development efforts performed by the test team.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation with other team members


Position Requirements

  • 5+ years leading an IT Test team
  • 2+ years’ experience in Test Automation (Website/Android Instrumentation)
  • Familiarity with a test management systems (TestRails a plus)
  • Understanding of SQL queries, and basic SQL related technology.

A Multi Disciplined Software Engineer who loves challenges and has a thirst for knowledge! You will be responsible for the upkeep and new implementation of internal and external desktop, server and mobile technical projects. The primary focus of this position is to ensure a diverse range of our applications stay running smoothly while integrating new features and writing some replacements and new systems.


Your duties will include, but are not limited to debugging, designing, building and maintaining systems and environments; focusing on data housekeeping and system housekeeping. We use a variety of languages and systems and this position requires the flexibility to thrive in this environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write, Build, Deploy, Configure, and Support software systems, which may also include software installations, updates, and core services.

Solutions Analyst

The Solutions Analyst (SA) role is critical in ensuring we provide solutions to clients that work well in the field and are specified clearly with IT engineering when changes or customizations are required.  The SA provides the key liaison between the business facing roles in Account Management and Sales and our internal IT engineering groups.

The SA is required to have the most in-depth knowledge of both a client’s technical configuration, how it works with their physical inventory processes and how the solution will be used in the field.

The SA is exposed to more clients of varying complexity and scope than any other group within Datascan.

The position is pivotal in ensuring Datascan’s clients receive both equipment and software that has been correctly specified, configured and delivered to enable them to perform inventory counts efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and fully understand client/prospect requests and submit detailed specifications to IT engineering for development
  • Liaise between client, Sales/Account management and IT engineering to ensure questions are answered and expectations are clear
  • Ensure programs are designed and working fully as specified by clients/prospects
  • Communicate directly with client/prospect regarding file requirements and specifications
  • Review lifecycle test cases and test procedures to ensure that test plans adequately test all requirements
  • Perform technical testing and UAT
  • Document and maintain records of client specifications. Update Datascan documentation as necessary when configuration changes are requested
  • Ensure documentation provided to the client/prospect is accurate and complete
  • Communicate effectively with clients/prospects, Sales and Account Managers on recommended best practice solutions

Position Requirements

  • BA or BS relevant to the position
  • 3+ years experience in Solution Analyst or related roles
